About the Character Sequence
This course explores how character desire, motivation, and goal-setting function as the engine of story. It focuses on intention and action rather than classification or psychology. Moral complexity, character traits, and archetypal or psychological patterns are explored in Characters II and Characters III, which build on the foundation established here. You are encouraged to work alongside your own story idea throughout the course. The concepts introduced here pair naturally with courses on plot paradigms and outlining, providing a strong foundation for deeper character development as your work evolves.
