The Debug Function Library introduces new debug nodes and in-editor tools to streamline debugging across your Unreal Engine project. With this plugin, you can easily control Blueprint debugging, toggling it on or off with a single click. For even greater control, you can also enable or disable print, log, and draw debug individually for each Blueprint.
The plugin also features a dedicated output log, ensuring that only messages generated by the Debug Function Library nodes are displayed. This provides significantly cleaner and more focused logs, containing precisely what you’ve chosen to track, without the clutter of unrelated engine output.
A new print node offers enhanced functionality, allowing you to:
- Change the print state (print & log, print, log)
- Set the print level (message, warning, error, verbose, very verbose)
- Print formatted strings (with automatic wildcard pins)
- Override debug property duration
- Run the print node on tick (automatically sets duration)
- Enable/disable the node
The Debug Function Library also adds new draw debug nodes. All new draw nodes allow you to run them on tick (automatically sets duration), override the debug properties duration, and override all debug properties.
For C++ developers, the library brings over one hundred new C++ macros for debugging. These new macros enable you to manage print & log, log, and draw debug in C++, offering a much shorter and more readable syntax than built-in macros or draw functions.
Leverage the new Blueprint context menu actions to select Blueprints directly from the content browser and enable/disable debug, print, log, and draw debug on all selected assets. Additionally, new Blueprint toolbar actions allow you to bulk select DFL nodes by common properties or states and perform bulk operations on them, saving you significant time.
